Description
Twenty-two chromolithographed trade cards from American perfumers, printed c. 1870–1900: twelve of them are Murray & Lanman Florida Water, Hoyt’s German Cologne and Austen’s Forest Flower cards, with the rest from Ricksecker, Armant, Taylor, Drexel, Palmer, Read, Hudnut and Bean & Brother. The cards are whole originals, fronts and backs where the library scanned both, from the Boston Public Library’s trade card collection.
The cutouts download has 43 pictures on transparent backgrounds, each with the card it came from: fairies and cherubs, ladies with a mirror and a flower garland, children with giant cologne bottles, a frog riding a goose, a parrot, a cockatoo, orioles and a hummingbird, butterflies, roses and flower sprays, and the cologne bottles themselves. Use them on bottle labels, candle and soap packaging, gift boxes, signs, stationery or a perfumer’s shop window.
